Working Creatively With The Inner Child In Counselling

Synopsis:Today’s training will look at what we mean by the Inner Child, using Transactional Analysis and other theoretical models.  A number of different interventions will be used, including artwork and Pauline’s Roles Played in Families cards timelines, and interviews. 

Participants will

• Gain an understand of what is meant by an ‘Inner Child’
• Explore their own internal scripts and dialogues
• Use creative techniques to discover clues to current behaviour which is rooted in childhood
• Use what is learnt with clients to deepen their understanding of themselves
• Be able to ask questions!

Biography: Pauline Andrews MA Counselling / Psychotherapy , Dip Sup, is Director of Deep Release and PA Counselling & Training. This online training programme began in 2020 and face to face conferences restarted in 2022. Her lively, interactive, vividly illustrated and often humorous training style on a wide range of topics relating to creative counselling, including being part of the BACP and ACC continuing professional development programmes has proved popular around the UK and around the world..

Pauline taught Diplomas in Counselling and Supervision, and the L5 Certificate course in Integrating Creative Interventions in Counselling (all CPCAB) for many years with Barnabas Counselling Training. She is the creator of the widely used creative counselling cards, Roles Played in Families, Core Needs in Families, Roles Played in Anger and Roles Played in Groups. She is also author of the three Creative Guides for counsellors on Working with the Inner Child, Working with Blocked Anger and Working with Nesting Dolls. Pauline has a thriving, colourful YouTube channel with lots of free videos showing different creative interventions.
